This foundational course in special education provides a broad view of multisensory classroom methods as they apply to teaching and learning. It provides a general view of multisensory learning along with various strategies for implementation. The course is intended to provide newcomers to multisensory education with a strong baseline of information that enables the student to engage more fully as they develop the knowledge and skills for providing intervention and accommodations for students with special needs.
Please note:
- This course is an intensive which comprises lectures, home assignments, and classroom presentations.
- Students who earn 2 credits for SPED400 spend 6 hours each week on this course in a mixture of faculty-led teaching-learning (4 hours) and student-directed learning (2 hours) on review of lecturers or classwork, group work, required or recommended readings and home assignments.
