Dr. Victoria Patricia Josephine Elder, EdS,
PhD, NCSP
Dr. Victoria Patricia Josephine Elder, originally from Point Fortin, Trinidad and Tobago, is a seasoned educator, psychologist, and advocate for individuals with special needs. She holds a PhD in School Psychology and an EdS from Andrews University, as well as advanced degrees in Educational and Developmental Psychology, Elementary Education, and Musical Arts.
Dr. Elder has taught at every level of Trinidad and Tobago’s education system and has held leadership roles with the Ministry of Education. She also served as an adjunct lecturer at the University of the Southern Caribbean. Internationally, she worked in Utah, USA, as a school psychologist, conducting psychoeducational assessments and supporting parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
At CESC, Dr. Elder brings her vast experience to the Certificate in Special Education programme, where she will teach three modules: SEN Response to Intervention (RTI) and the Individualized Education Plan (IEP), SEN Diagnostics, and SEN Data Collection and Interpretation. Her instruction is grounded in real-world practice and a commitment to data-informed student support.
Dr. Elder’s dedication to empowering individuals with special needs and her expertise in individualized learning strategies make her an inspiring leader in the field of special education.
