OUR Graduation Regalia & Its Meaning

For our CESC graduates, regalia is more than tradition, it symbolizes the calling, commitment, and impact of those who serve in the field of Education and Special Education.

Light Blue: The Color of Education

Light blue is the official academic color representing the field of Education. It signifies:

  • Wisdom, truth, and understanding – the foundation of effective teaching.

  • Dedication to helping others grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially.

  • Calm authority and clarity – qualities essential for educators supporting diverse learners.

Whether worn as a hood trim, stole, or honor cord, light blue reflects the legacy and purpose of those committed to inclusive, transformational education.

WHAT GRADUATES WEAR

  • Cap & Gown: The universal symbol of academic achievement and the transition to professional practice.

  • Hoods or Stoles: Featuring light blue to represent the discipline of Education, along with institutional colors on the lining.

  • Honor Cords: Awarded for academic excellence, leadership, or membership in honor societies.

Our regalia celebrates not only what graduates have accomplished in their studies, but also the future they are preparing to shape, one learner, one classroom, one community at a time.
