Dr. Sharon Burke, DPsych

Dr. Sharon Burke is a dedicated school social worker with over 12 years of experience in supporting students' mental, emotional, and academic success. Currently a doctoral candidate in School Psychology at Capella University, she also holds a Master’s degree in Social Work with a focus on school and mental health from Andrews University.


Dr. Burke has extensive experience working with diverse student populations, including those with special educational needs (SEN), at-risk youth, and refugee communities. She specializes in conducting diagnostic assessments, developing individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create effective interventions. Her expertise includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care.


As a guest lecturer for universities and international education platforms, Sharon brings a wealth of knowledge on the role of social workers in SEN treatment. Her approach emphasizes teamwork, collaboration with educators and healthcare professionals, and evidence-based strategies to ensure holistic student support.


With a passion for education, advocacy, and mental health, Sharon is committed to equipping professionals with the tools needed to foster inclusive and supportive learning environments.
