Dr. Sylvan A. Lashley, a seasoned leader and visionary, serves as the CEO/President of Strategic Advent Leadership Christian Academy (SALCA), Inc., a registered Georgia domestic corporation and certified non-profit dedicated to "Preparing Visionary Whole Person Leaders." Along with this vocation in happy retirement, Rd. Lashley also pastors a church in rural Georgia, where the focus is on the development of digital disciples. With an impressive academic background, including graduate degrees in History (MA), Marketing (MBA), Education Law (MEL), Higher Education Leadership (Ed. D)., and a Juris Doctorate (JD), Dr. Lashley brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. His latest co-authored work, "Steps to Good Governance (July 2023), offers a unique perspective governance as a brokered consensus between CEO, Board Chairs and Owners/Influencers.
Throughout his career, Dr. Lashley has been at the forefront of strategic leadership and growth in K-16 education. As a consultant specializing in Grant Writing and Strategic Leadership Development, he has made an indelible mark on various educational institutions. His leadership philosophy, encapsulated in "The Four Sights: Hindsight, Oversight, Insight, and Foresight," underscores his commitment to dynamic and forward-thinking leadership. Dr. Lashley has taught Special Education law, and K-12 Education law at Andrews University, the University of Phoenix, the University of the Virgin Islands, Northeastern University and Link2Learn, a special education non-profit unit.
In addition to his roles as President and CEO, Dr. Lashley has been actively involved in higher education, serving as a Business School and Continuing Education School Dean, a student and academic vice-president, and has been a continuous college president for 18 years in the Caribbean and the United States at three institutions. He has also served as a school superintendent in New York and New England over a number of parochial schools. He has demonstrated success in enrolment growth, technology integration, and physical plant expansion, all while fostering a culture of integrity, transparency, trust, and consultation, serving now as consultant to several educational organizations.
Dr. Lashley's impact extends beyond the academic realm, with notable contributions to grant writing, fundraising, and community service. As a prolific writer and speaker, he has shared his insights on leadership, emphasizing the importance of a consistent and visionary approach.
