Dr Josephine Claxton Richardson, Director for the St Kitts Spectrum Services Centre. Dr Claxton-Richardson researched the 'Perceptions of administrators towards inclusive education in St Kitts and Nevis.' Masters in Education and Special Needs. Dr. Claxton-Richardson is a PLAY Project Consultant and a Certified Autism Specialist with over thirty years of experience in Mental health and disabilities. Qualified Nurse. I hold a degree in social work and applied social sciences, am an approved mental health professional with knowledge of mental health law, and am a graduate teacher. Dr. Claxton-Richardson has presented locally and regionally on evidence-based practices in assessment and intervention for autistic individuals. Dr. Claxton-Richardson has facilitated training sessions on behaviour, mental health, health, family life, learning support, and developmental disabilities. Dr Claxton-Richardson is involved in assessments and school observations and makes written and verbal recommendations to teachers and families on how best to engage autistic children in the classroom through the principles of PLAY, teaching PLAY, and partnerships. Dr. Claxton-Richardson's interest is in autistic girls, and she has undertaken training in this area and also counselling support for autistic girls /women. Dr. Claxton-Richardson recently coordinated a cohort of professionals to facilitate UNICEF Early Childhood Training for supervisors and parents in the early childhood sector.
