About the event

Topic: Asa Wright Nature Center
Hema David is the Trust Officer at the Asa Wright Nature Centre (AWNC), one of the Caribbean’s most important protected areas and a global hub for tropical research, conservation, and environmental education. She is an environmental scientist with experience spanning conservation planning, environmental impact assessment, sustainable tourism, and institutional governance. In her current role, Hema supports the Trust’s strategic objectives, partnerships, and stewardship responsibilities, while helping to strengthen AWNC’s position as a leader in conservation and public engagement. She works closely with the Board of Management, researchers, educators, and partners to ensure that the Centre’s operations align with its conservation mission and long-term sustainability. Hema is passionate about translating science into practical action and about connecting people—especially young people—to nature in meaningful, lasting ways.
